Understanding Garage Door Cables
Garage door cables work in conjunction with springs to safely lift and lower your garage door. Different cable types serve different purposes in your system.
Torsion Spring Cables
Torsion spring cables are wound around a drum and work with torsion springs mounted above the door. These heavy-duty cables provide balanced lifting power for heavier garage doors and are designed for long-term durability.
Extension Spring Cables
Extension spring cables run alongside the tracks and connect to extension springs mounted above the horizontal tracks. These cables help lift lighter garage doors and are visible for easier inspection.
